Lanco – Hallelujah Nights (2018)

Lanco (abbreviazione di Lancaster and Company) sono una band Americana composta da Brandon Lancaster (lead vocals), Chandler Baldwin (bass guitar), Jared Hampton (keyboards), Tripp Howell (drums) e Eric Steedly (guitar). Nascono nel 2013 grazie all’intuizione di Jay Joyce (Little Big Town, Brandy Clark, Brothers Osborne), uno che sa riconoscere il talento quando l’incontra. Nel 2016 pubblicano un EP intitolato LANco (4 canzoni) che raggiunge una certa notorietà col brano Long Live Tonight”. In questo EP però vi è un altro brano, intitolato Greatest Love Story che decreta il definitivo successo della band. Greatest Love Story è una buona canzone , perfetta per la programmazione radiofonica e infatti raggiunge la cima delle classifiche aprendo la strada a questo Hallelujah Nights (Arista Nashville) , il primo, vero album della band. Lanco interpretano una country music fresca e moderna. Il nuovo Nashville sound è certamente il tratto più caratteristico di questo cd, ma gli arrangiamenti e in particolare la qualità e la cura delle parti vocali confermano una certa continuità con la tradizione. Hallelujah Nights è un album vitale e dinamico, dove voci e musica si rincorrono fino a fondersi in brani (11) molto orecchiabili. “We all go through more of the same experiences than we realise and songwriting is a process of observing those moments,” afferma Lancaster “Our stories have different people, different names, different places, but they all have the same emotions attached to them. It’s not fantasy-related. To me, this album is about glorifying the reality of life.” Attualmente in tour con Dustin Lynch e poi con Chris Young, Lanco sono sicuramente “The band to watch”.
